Veterans Day ceremonies take place in Mason City, Clear Lake

Veterans Day ceremonies take place throughout our area today:

== In Mason City, Main Street Mason City will host a flag-planting ceremony in Central Park at 9:15 AM, with veterans placing flags around the park. A veterans ceremony begins at 9:45 in Central Park with a dedication for 33 veterans whose names have been added to the veterans monument. The ceremony moves to the All Veterans Center at 1603 South Monroe. Guest speaker will be Vice Admiral Norman Ray.

== In Clear Lake, the city’s new veterans memorial located at the VFW Post 4868 will be dedicated this afternoon at 1 o’clock. Eldon Vine will be the guest speaker. Prior to that, the VFW Auxiliary will host a meal from 11:30 to 1:00 PM, with veterans eating free and the rest of the public encouraged to make a free-will donation.
