City offices will also be closed on Monday, January 2, 2023, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. Those residents that normally have City sanitation services on Monday will have collection on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

Nearly 100 scrapbook enthusiasts craft their way to finding a cure for cancer at the 15th Annual “Crop for the Cure.” Over the last fourteen years this memorable weekend has raised more than $115,000 for the Lyle Area Cancer organization, a non-profit that raises money for cancer research.

City offices will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2022, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. City transit buses will be operating that day. The Mason City Transit system is offering free rides on Veterans Day for all active military and veterans, law enforcement, firefighters and emergency services personnel to thank them for their service to our country and community
