MASON CITY — It’s a week in jail for a Mason City man accused of a vandalism spree throughout the community.
Mason City police arrested 36-year-old Bill Grouette Junior on August 25th and charged him with second-degree criminal mischief. Police said Grouette is suspected of spray painting and writing on the walls and windows of various businesses in the downtown area during the month of August.
As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, Grouette pleaded guilty to a charge of third-degree criminal mischief. Judge Karen Salic this week sentenced him to seven days in jail and issued a $625 fine, which was suspended.
