Mason City meth dealer sentenced to 13 years in prison

MASON CITY — A Mason City man has been sentenced to over 13 years in prison for dealing methamphetamine.
48-year-old Frank Alvarado was arrested in September of last year after the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at 1314 North Jersey, where officers confiscated two firearms, cash and a large amount of meth.
Alvarado pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to distribute meth and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Alvarado was sentenced to 159 months in prison to be followed by four years of supervised release.
