Mason City council at-large race highlights Cerro Gordo County elections today
MASON CITY — City and school board elections take place in Iowa today, with a number of contested elections taking place in north-central Iowa:
== In Mason City, one of the three city council seats on the ballot has a contested race. At-large councilman Paul Adams is seeking his second term and is being challenged by Max Weaver. First Ward councilman John Lee and Third Ward councilman Joshua Masson are running unopposed for re-election. Two seats on the Mason City Park Board are on the ballot, with incumbent Troy Levenhagen and political newcomer Jay Lala on the ballot.
== The Mason City School Board has two incumbents running for re-election, two incumbents not seeking another term, and two newcomers who appear to be headed for spots on the board. Incumbents Lorrie Lala and Brent Seaton are running for another term on the board, but two other incumbents, Scott Warren and Doug Campbell, did not file for the election. Katherine Koehler and Kristine Cassel are the other two to file for seats on the board and will not be contested in the election.
== There is not a contested race for the three council seats on the ballot for the Clear Lake City Council. At-large councilman Mike Callanan and First Ward councilman Mark Ebeling are running for re-election, while Gary Hugi is once again running for a spot on the council. He served a four-year term in an at-large seat on the council from 2013 to 2017
== There will be a contested election for the three seats on the Clear Lake School Board. Incumbents John Brady, Chad Kuhlers and Mike Moeller are running for re-election, and will be joined on the ballot by John Raymond.

== In Rockwell, three people are running for two at-large council positions, with incumbents Larry Wentz and Brian Koob being challenged by Wendy Perrott
== Ventura has four people running for three at-large council seats, with incumbents John Quintus and Michael Thackery being challenged by Cory Caldwell and Daryl Heinemann
== In the West Fork School District, school board president Rob Heimbuch is being challenged by Jeffrey Tudor
