CLEAR LAKE — There were no contested races for Clear Lake city government on this year’s ballot. At-large councilman Mike Callanan and First Ward councilman Mark Ebeling won another term. Gary Hugi, who served one term in an at-large seat from 2013 to 2017, was unopposed for the Third Ward seat currently held by Jim Boehnke, who decided not to run for a third term. 

 

In the other municipal races that were contested on the ballot in Cerro Gordo County:

 

== Megan Quam beat Joanna Augustus 43-19 to fill the vacancy for mayor in Rock Falls

 

== In Rockwell, Brian Koob and Larry Wentz won the two seats on the Rockwell city council. Koob had 136 votes, Larry Wentz had 102. Wendy Perrott finished third with 65.

 

== In Ventura, Joe Schmit won the mayor’s race 66-44 over Dustin Pachtinger. The three at-large council seats went to Dayyl Heinemann (101), John Quintas (93) and Cory Caldwell (63). 

 

== The three incumbents won re-election to the Clear Lake School Board. Michael Moeller had 402 votes, John Brady 346 and Chad Kuhlers 289. Their challenger, John Raymond, collected 256 votes. Clear Lake School District voters also overwhelmingly approved the school district’s revenue purpose statement by a 469-56 margin. 

 

== There was not a contested race for the Mason City School Board. Incumbents Lorrie Lala and Brent Seaton will be joined by Katherine Koehler and Kristine Cassel, who won their first term on Tuesday.
