CEDAR RAPIDS — A Webster City man arrested in Hancock County for a stolen gun has been sentenced to federal prison.

26-year-old Aric Dunn was pulled over on December 17th of last year while driving on US Highway 18 near Britt, where officers discovered two loaded handguns in a box behind the driver’s seat, with one of the guns being reported stolen.

Dunn originally was charged in Hancock County, but those charges were dismissed in lieu of federal charges.

He recently pleaded guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to seven years in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release.
