Floyd man arrested on sexual abuse charges

FLOYD — A man from Floyd has been arrested on multiple counts of sexual misconduct with a nine-year-old child.
63-year-old Charles Thompson has been charged with second-degree sexual abuse, lascivious acts with a child, dissemination of obscene material, assault with the intent to commit sexual abuse, and indecent contact with a child.
Court documents show that the victim in the case stated to a forensic interviewer in Waterloo that Thompson was always touching her inappropriately and had the victim watch videos with sexual content.
Thompson is due in court for his preliminary hearing on October 18th. He’s being held in jail on $40,000 bond.
