CLEAR LAKE, IA — On April 25, 2024, the Surf BallroomÂŽÂ and Surf Ballroom Music Enrichment Center proudly present Josh Hendersonâs “One More Night,” a free concert commemorating the indelible legacy of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. Richardson. This show promises an evening of reflection, celebration, and soul-stirring melodies.
Renowned cross-genre multi-instrumentalist and composer, Josh Henderson, leads an ensemble of talented musicians through a 9-movement work that delves into the untold stories and enduring legacy of the 1959 Winter Dance Party Tour’s perished trio. From thematic elements inspired by the singers’ biggest hits to personal reflections on each artist and a tribute to pilot Roger Peterson, this concert transcends the boundaries of time and space, connecting with the universal mystery of passing onto the next realm.

About Josh Henderson:
Josh Henderson, a distinguished cross-genre multi-instrumentalist and composer based in New York City, is known for his innovative approach to music and captivating performances. Leading an exciting career that ranges from soloing with orchestras and performing classical recitals to throwing down electric violin and bass in rock clubs and jazz festivals, Henderson has a profound reverence for musical history and a commitment to pushing artistic boundaries. A founding member of the globe-trotting ensemble Warp Trio and the New Music group Contemporaneous, Henderson also serves on the artist-faculty at NYU Steinhardt and the Longy School of Music in Cambridge. His esteemed friends and collaborators on the âOne More Nightâ album are at the forefront of the fields of contemporary classical, jazz, and rock among others, and the ensemble is comprised of saxophonist Caroline Davis, electric guitarist Brendon Randall-Myers, vocalist Sylver Wallace, fellow Warp Trio member Rick Martinez on the drum set, and the String Quartet Desdemona. Through his unique blend of talent and creativity, Henderson continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
