Cannonball Day in Mason City 🚂

Cannonball Day is an annual event sponsored by the Friends of the 457 and area businesses designed to highlight the Minneapolis & St Louis steam locomotive in East Park, Mason City, Iowa. 

Cannonball Day is filled from morning ’til night with fun activities for families and children of all ages who love to be around trains!  From the early morning Cannonball Kids Fun Run (download entry form),  and the great Mason City Kiwanis/Hy-Vee Famous Cannonball Chicken BBQ, there is something for everyone!  Don’t miss the great talent of our youth at the Bill Riley Talent Search. And NEW THIS YEAR, Cannonball Kids Business Fair! All proceeds from the day’s event, and donations from the Kiwanis Chicken BBQ and other sponsors, go to help support the work of restoration, preservation, and maintenance for the education and fun of the public. Cannonball Day returns in 2023 on June 24!
