CHARLES CITY — A Charles City man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to federal methamphetamine dealing charges.

45-year-old Alonzo Henderson admits that on December 1st 2017, that he was in possession of a total of $65,500 in cash proceeds recovered from a backpack at his residence as well as over 500 grams of meth. Officers searched his residence again on May 17th 2018 and recovered over $106,500 in drug proceeds and over five-and-a-half kilograms of pure meth.

Henderson had previously been convicted in five felony drug trafficking cases in state court as well as on multiple assault convictions.

Henderson pleaded guilty in April to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and was sentenced last week by US District Judge C. J. Williams to 300 months in prison to be followed by a five-year term of supervised release.
