Cedar Falls man charged with illegally using Charles City company’s credit cards
CHARLES CITY — A former employee of a Charles City company has been accused of running up thousands of dollars in unauthorized charges.
A criminal complaint says 37-year-old James Vilmain of Cedar Falls was fired from C. H. Wilson Transport on May 1st, but he kept two company credit cards and allegedly ran up almost $3500 in charges on those cards after he was fired. Authorities say surveillance video shows Vilmain using the cards at the times and places of some of those charges.
An arrest warrant was issued in July for Vilmain’s arrest. He was taken into custody after a traffic stop in Floyd County on November 27th. He’s been charged with one count of unauthorized use of a credit card. Vilmain is due in court for his preliminary hearing on December 13th.
If convicted as charged, Vilmain would face up to five years in prison.
